ICTOP Fellows 2017

CALL FOR ICTOP FELLOWS – 2017 ICTOP Conference

Applications are invited for four (4) ICTOP international fellows, and four (4) ICTOP local (residents of the Republic of Namibia) fellows for attending the ICTOP annual conference in October 2017 in Windhoek, Namibia.

 

Category A – international) Applications are invited for four (4) ICTOP international fellows, who must be individual members of ICOM-ICTOP or ICOM (not necessary ICTOP) youth members (under 40 years of age). Applicants from ICOM Categories 3 & 4 will have priority.

ICTOP Fellowship funding (up to 400 €/person) must be used to cover the conference fee and/or an international airfare for participation in the ICTOP annual conference taking place 11-13 October 2017 in Windhoek, Namibia. Main goal of the ICTOP fellowships is to offer opportunities for candidates in need to participate in global interaction with ICTOP members from different parts of the world. Candidates are expected to remain active in ICTOP, or (for youth fellows) to become ICTOP member.

Category B – local) Applications are invited for four (4) ICTOP local (residents of the Republic of Namibia) fellows engaged in museum related work, including trainings for museum professionals. Applicant must be ICOM and/or MAN member.

ICTOP Fellowship funding (N$ 1,000/person) aims covering the conference fee for participation in the ICTOP annual conference taking place 11-13 October 2017 in Windhoek. Main goal of the ICTOP fellowships is to offer opportunities for candidates in need to participate in global interaction with ICTOP members from different parts of the world. Candidates are expected to become ICTOP member.

Requirements – Category A) ICTOP international fellows

  1. All applicants shall be engaged actively in trainings for museum professionals or curatorial, education, research or developmental work in a museum.
  2. Applicants must have been an ICTOP member for a minimum of one year (paid membership of ICOM for the year 2017 with ICTOP as preferred committee) or a youth ICOM member for a minimum of one year (paid membership of ICOM for the year 2017 plus under 40 years of age).
  3. ICTOP Fellows are required to contribute a reflective report (no later then 45 days after end of the conference) about their conference experience and how it will shape their professional development.

Applications must reach the ICTOP Fellowships Committee (all) by August 25th 2017, along with the following:

  1. Maximum 250 words long statement of the applicant’s motivation for attending ICTOP 2017 conference and the benefits which s/he expects to derive from it.
  2. Curriculum vitae (maximum 1 page) indicating name, age, citizenship, home address, institutional address, contact phone, e-mail address, details of qualification, employment positions, research experience and ICOM membership number.

1 & 2 must be incorporated into single document (.doc or .pdf), the subject must be: ICTOP 2017 international fellow-application-surname of candidate.

ICTOP Fellows shall be announced by September 10th, 2017. Awards will be given strictly on merit and subject to fulfilment of all conditions. ICTOP reserves the right for the selection of candidates and shall hold the right of publishing a conference report of the selected candidate. Fellowships will be realised as reimbursement of paid conference fee and/or international airfare (a prove of payment will be needed).
